Hanoverian Dynasties
For many years Claus Schridde has studied dam's lineages from all over Germany and ordered them into the original breeding areas. Publisher Sandra Asmussen from Gelting has published a series of books on this subject consisting of four parts. Holstein, Hanoverian, Trakehner and Westfalian and Oldenburg. The series has the character of a reference work. Text and pictures cover a number of families extensively, with full page pedigrees of famous lineages such as, for example, lineage 776. Photographs never published before of sires' dams such as the dam of Cassini I and II, Corrado I and II, Alcatraz etc. make the work complete. All available information including that from abroad, is processed in the book. In Part 1 the Holstein lineages numbers 4 to 8888 have been included, with all of their licensed stallions, the selection and performance test leaders receiving extra attention. Further reference is made to well performing sport horses. Part II covers the very important Hanoverian dynasties per dam from A to Z. Part III is about Trakehner families from A to Z, including the lineages with Arabian or Thoroughbred blood which are important for warmblood breeding. Part IV covers dams' lineages of Westfalian and Oldenburg origins, as well as families of importance from other breeding areas. The books are written in the German language but non German speaking readers will understand the layout and learn a great deal about these great families.
